The northwest section of the Caribbean Sea is characterized by the Trench of Yucatan and comunicate to the Gulf of Mexico through the Strait of Yucatan. It is bordered by the Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico), Belize and Honduras and on the other side with the islands of Cuba, Jamaica and other smaller ones. In The Cayman Trench it is the deepness place of the Caribbean Sea with 7687 meters. On the Caribbean coast of Yucatan is the Riviera Maya and many other tourist developments .
